Stunning Views from Nice Castle
The Nice Castle was a military fortress built in the 11th century to protect the city and its surroundings. Louis XIV ordered its destruction in 1706, and it was never rebuilt. So when people talk about “Le château de Nice” these days, they actually mean the 93 meter high hill it was built on! There’s lots of walkways up there, stunning 360° views of Nice, the sea and the bay, and even a beautiful waterfall.
A 360° View of Nice from the Top of the Castle
The fiancé and I went up with a friend there last week to enjoy the view. First of all though, we had to climb a lot of stairs! There is a lift, but hey, free exercise!
Once we got up there, this is the view we had. Enjoy!
